Plays of the Game!
Every session, we will award experience to the player with the "play of the game" which can be combat or roleplay. The play of the game will decided by me, the DM, although I will usually choose the most highly rated play as given in XP bonus by the other players.
Week 6: Benrik Farwander, played by Brandon! "Man in Wolf's Clothing."
Benrik decided the best time to inform the group of his new beast shape power was to complete his first transformation mid-battle.
Week 5 Part 2!
Rican Weatherbee, played by Matt! "Lend Me Your Ears."
During a time of snooping and investigation, Rican saw his opportunity to stick it to the man; particularly to his nose. He took some additional time to hide the detached goblin ears in and around Felix's office, to ensure a good lasting stench. He also managed to pilfer a few questionable documents while doing so.
Week 5 Part 1!
Gilrahad Tabor, played by Mark! ...I forget.
Week 4: Thormund Nocklan, played by Amanda! "I Solemnly Swear."
Just when it seemed the battled had taken a turn for the worse, Thormund spoke the oath of the Circle of Iron and satisfied the ancient wrath of the risen knights in their crypt.
Week 3: Thormund Nocklan, played by Amanda! "Speak Priest!"
Father Samuel had just finished reciting his afternoon prayers when one of his pages knocked on the door of his study. "Yes?" he asked, and he stood from his private altar. Tallin opened the door and spoke in the small voice that belied her youth. "There are some... dwarves here. They've asked for you by name, sir," she squeaked. "Dwarves?" he stammered back, then continued, "Yes, I did see a dwarf the other day admiring the fountain. Don't go back the way you came, I'll be right there." The page looked relieved and she went on her way, presumably to the pages' quarters.
He stepped into the sanctuary, and sure enough, there were as many as three dwarves waiting for him, along with a halfling and a man, who looked as though he was made of the metal in which he was clad.
"May I... Help you?" he asked, quizzically.
Little did he know, he would not only enjoy speaking with the dwarves, but he soon found himself becoming fonder of the paladin, Thormund. Over the next few minutes, he shared more gossip than he had in months, despite his frequent assertions that he was not in the business of gossip. The group left Father Samuel feeling hopeful. Perhaps they could help bring a little peace to this small town.

Week 2: Part 2!
Thrastim Cavebreaker, played by Cory! "Get Ahead"
The three goblins had been on patrol. As they approached the camp, the smell of blood filled their nostrils, and they saw they had just missed an ambush. The perpetrators were still inside and they heard the bellows of their companions. The trio rushed forward. Yarkin, the leader of the three charged headlong into the tomb entrance, and had surprise on his side. He saw the unprotected backside of a tiny halfling caster, not much bigger than Yarkin. He licked his lips and let out a cry of attack.
In his eagerness, he fumbled his blade as he brought it out of its sheath. His wicked smile turned quickly to disdain and fear as his watched his well-worn scimitar bounce and skid along the stone floor, well away from him. His prey turned to him in surprise. Before Yarkin could react, a burly mountain dwarf wheeled around, with a hefty pick in his hand. Yarkin put his hands up in his only defense, but it was too late. The mighty pick pushed aside his arms as if they were leaves trying to hold back the wind. The pick sank deeply into Yarkin's skull with such force that his puny spine could not take the pressure and snapped like a twig. The goblin's wide-eyed head stuck to the point of the warpick and was slammed against the stone wall. The dwarf flung the disfigured goblin's head to the floor before the rest of poor Yarkin's body even realized it was dead.

Week 2: Part 1!
Gilrahad Tabor, played by Mark! "Lemme at 'im!"
Gork-jog was proud of himself. He had just escaped a band of adventurers, but not until after he had peppered them with his black arrows. He watched the other troops die around him, but to Gork-jog they were nothing more than expendable meat-shields and their death only meant more reward for himself. Not only did he escape, but he led them right into the scythe trap they rigged up and he got to warn Burgen, their bugbear leader, that the adventurers were on the way.
He smiled an evil grin as he watched the intruders fight their way into the brute as he hid behind the alter. Behind him, the puny human girl whimpered, so he kicked her cage for good measure before he stood and loosed another arrow. He saw Yigyag, the Maleficent singe away the oncomers with a violent flame. The battle was going well. That was until Burgen fell. Gork-jog stood to loose another arrow, but in his hastiness, he didn't see the human sneaking in behind the pillar. The mountain of a man was clad from head to toe in steel, yet he still had the strength to launch himself up and over the alter and crash into the unsuspecting goblin.
Gork-job tried to squirm out of his grasp, but the man was too powerful, and soon had him pinned at all corners. Gork-job belted a stream of curses at the man-beast, but his breath soon failed him under the weight of the armored knight. Before he lost consciousness, he was thrown mercilessly into the very cage the young girl was in only moments earlier. He cried out in his native tongue, but he instead was left, unceremoniously, in the darkness, with nothing but the dead to keep him company.

Week 1: Ness, played by Joe! "Blink of an Eye"
The goblins were completely unaware. They had been installed to keep watch for the rest of the clan, but after the first few hours, they became bored and were idly chatting by the fire instead. Unknown to them, six adventurers had just picked up a local bounty for fresh goblin ears, and they were on the menu. The party crept along either side of them and got into position.
Ness ducked behind a small boulder and nocked an arrow. He pulled the string taught and he felt his arm crook into its usual place, the fletching barely a hair from his cheek. The young halfling took aim and let loose his bolt towards its mark. The arrow sped through the air, slicing the silence with a satisfying whoosh. A moment later, a sickening impact resounded. The missile pierced the unfortunate goblin's eye directly in its ugly black pupil. The goblin fell backward from its seat, the back of the fletching was all that could be seen where his eye used to be.
